*There are two types of users; local users and domain users.
-Local users; they can only be used on the computer in which they were created. There're two types: standar or administrator.
-Domain users; they are a group of computers. One person can manage all the computers with just a device, the domain controller can change the wallpaper of all the computers under it range, prohibide the access to x files, and so.
+Advantages: you don't need to know the password of each device if you have the domain user.
-Disadvantages: if the network is down you can't access to your computer. If you do not log off, anybody that uses the computer after you can reach to all you information.

Hi Alba! A couple of comments related to this post:
ReplyDelete1. Just be aware of the differences between standard and administrator users.
-Standard: users with limited access to the system. Sometimes they cannot install software or change basic configuration of the system like the IP address, create other users, or change password for other users.
- Administrator: special user type with full access to the system. They are able to create other users and change passwords for them.
2. Talking about Domain Controllers:
- Advantage: a domain user can access all the computers in the domain using the same username and password. But as you stated, if the network is down, you couldn't access to none of the computers.
Cheers! Angélica.
