NIC IP CONFIGURATION I
*To configure a NIC we need four numbers:
1.IP ADDRESS (which I have explained in my previous post)
2.NETWORK MASK
*All the numbers are 255 or 0.
Ex. 255.255.255.0
*It limitates you the number of computers, if your Network Mask is 255.255.255.0, you can't have more than 255 computers working with the same Network Mask.
3.GETWAY
*Here your have the private IP Address of your router.
*You can access to it by going to menu, search programs, write 'cdm', write 'ipconfig, find 'adaptador de ethernet conexión área local', and then the numbers next to 'puerta de enlace predeterminada' are the numbers of your Network Mask.
Ex. 10.0.72.254
Just with these three numbers you can't surf the internet.
4. DNS (DYNAMIC NAME SERVER)
*It's in the internet, it's not a physical machine that we can have in our home.
*It translates the URL of the pagues we want to shearch to the IP Address of it.
Ex. https://www.google(...)--->8.8.8.8
*You can access to it by going to menu, search programs, write 'cdm', write 'ipconfig /all', find 'adaptador de ethernet conexión área local', and then the numbers next to 'servidores DNS' are the numbers of your DNS.
Hope all of this information have helped you.
